Physics & Physical Science Demos, Labs, & Projects for High School Teachers

Labor Day Update

Posted on: September 1, 2008

When I started this blog, I figured a few people might get something out of it.  It’s now just three months and I’ve had over 11,000 page views.  One day last week the blog had over 500 hits – it blows my mind.

Thanks to everyone that wrote me to say you found my work here useful.  I’m happy to carry on email conversations with anyone who can use a hand or has something to share.  I’m never afraid to ask for help and I’m just as happy to give it.  I appreciate the recommended web sites and other additions from the other teachers out there.  Keep those ideas and comments coming.

School starts tomorrow and right now I’m stressing over teaching Physical Science to seniors.  There is no existing curriculum, it’s going to be so much work starting from scratch.  But I’m going to keep adding new ideas as I come up with them throughout the school year.

Thanks for stopping by,

What’s New in 2013/2014?

Every year brings a change, this one is no exception.

I will be picking up the sophomore honors Algebra II class to keep them separate from the juniors. This should help accelerate them and put them on a stronger track towards Calculus. Looks like there will be only one section each of Physics and Calculus, but still two of Robotics & Engineering.

Hot topics this year are going to be the Common-Core Standards, Standards-Based Grading (SBG), improving AP Calculus scores, and somehow adding Python, maybe as a club.

Just a quick poll to help me understand who is stopping by my blog.

Yeah sure, lots from America, but look who else is here…

If you are badly in need of more email or for some reason jonesing for a physics fix, enter your email address so I can bother you with my newest rant on science.
